  3. I think that North Korea is a cruel nation for what they are doing to its citizens. Since the Kim jong un thinks in a radical way there are people in concentration camps paying for crimes that they didn't do. Also, the amount of propaganda that flows into the citizens is crazy, making it seem like the ruthless dictator is a fluffy bunny.

  5. In my opinion i think that north korea is a weak country and if they keep leading by fear and starving their people some one will do something and un dynasty will be gone. If they keep going down this path according two upfront they already outweigh north korea in every way they will crumble and they have no friends to help them. North korea hopefully will get invaded and someone will save the people and take away the nucs.

  6. I do not like North Korea. North Korea seems like a very bad place to live. From all of the videos, articles, and Mr. Carpenter coming in, North Korea seems like a very cruel place for people to live, they have to follow many rules and listen to a very strict leader. In the article we read, I can see how strong and powerful the bombs are that North Korea has dealt with. This is showing how much North Korea goes through and all the badness that some people in North Korea live through. Overall North Korea seems like a horrific place and I hope that I never have to experience anything like that.

  7. North Korea is ruled by the Kim family and they're all dictators. In North Korea there is no freedom, no communication and you have to love the leader. If you try escaping you will get killed if caught. What comes in North Korea normally doesn't get out. In the video where everyone's blindness was cured, they all thanked him even though it was his fault in the first place which was ironic. In that video a man also shared about how there was no way out, too much surveillance and everyone was brainwashed to love the leader so he needed to try escaping.

  8. I think North Korea is a horrible country. They are so controlling and scared to do anything wrong. In the video we watched citizens were getting their cataracs fixed because they were blind. They got blind because of the lack of food and the Kim family caused their blindness. When they got their eyesight back, all of the citizens were praising their leader even though he was the one who caused them to be blind. I think all of them are a little too obsessed with the Kim family.

  9. I think that they are a cruel nation that is starving their citizens. The reason there people are so much smaller than the people in South Korea is because they starve their citizens. I think that they are a very hostile country and they treat their citizens like they don’t matter at all and all they should do is worship Kim Jong Un. They have no freedom. They are constantly watched by government officials and most of them can't even go on the internet.

  11. North Korea is a failed country. They have a failed economy, bad medical care, a terrible GDP and a lot more. All of the bad stuff is caused by the Kim dictatorship. Their current leader is Kim Jong Un and he has caused a lot of bad stuff. The North Koreans are not very healthy. Many of them have gone blind from bad medical care. The average North Korean is a lot smaller than the average South Korean. I think North Korea is a bad country.

  12. My overall thoughts on North Korea is that not only would it be a terrible place to live, but having no freedom to do what you want and have to follow the rules of the dictator. Faking everything you have to do, so you would not get arrested or killed would be terrible because I would feel I that I have been living a lie. Showing everyone that I actually like the dictator would be one of the biggest lies I could give. I know that some people in North Korea probably feel the same way. North Korea is a weak country controlled by fear of getting caught. By what I learned North Korea is a place where it is almost impossible to escape, living in fear, and the dictator controlling everything. North Korea is overall a terrible place and I am glad I don’t have to go through that experience.

  13. My overall thoughts are that North Korea is a very different country than all others. There are especially lots of differences between to two rival countries, South Korea and North Korea. South Korea is a much more visitable place to go. It has way more food, 51.2m cell phones, The death rate is 80 years old, 51,697 mi are paved roads and there is a huge population. North Korea is a very isolated place that not many people go to and not many people come out of. They have very very little food, 2.8m cell phones, 70 years death rate, 450 mi of paved roads and a very tiny population. They are both obviously very different and North Korea is much more Isolated. I don’t think I would ever want to go there even if I was invited because North Korea they are very strict with everything even with just a picture, because Kim Jong Un is very careful about things or pictures getting out that he doesn’t want to get out. Kim doesn’t want people seeing their country, and he wants to brainwash people to thinking it's a great country and everyone who lives there has to praise him.

  14. My overall thoughts with regard to North Korea are very bad. In the article we read it shows that Everything is controlled. The people of North Korea have no internet access and TV. Radios only have government channels. Because of this the people of North korea are isolated from the outside world. They have no clue what is going on in other countries therefore they think their country is perfect how it is. Also in the video we watched it shows people who are blind getting cured. Once they were able to see they walked up to a picture of their leader at the time who was Kim Jong II and thanked him for curing them. They said things like “live 10,000 years!!!”. This is very ironic because first of all he was not the one who cured them and second of all he was the one who made them ill since North Korea has horrible health care. This shows how the people of North Korea are so scared that something is going to happen to them if they don’t worship their leader. They also couldn’t even be scared and are brainwashed to love their leader. Either way the country is unfair and treats their people like nothing. They have absolutely no rights and if they ever say anything even questioning the leader's way of ruling they would immediately be executed. The people are North Korea are constantly living in fear.

  15. I think that North Korea was is cruel country. I think this because Kim Jong Un Is a dictator and he has all of the power and the citizens don’t. They all are cut off from the world and don’t have any access to the outside world. If they try leave they get caught and have to go back and be in prison camp.

  16. I think they are so fed up with all these nuclear weapons and stuff that they don’t care about their own people. Thousands of people starve while Kim jong un tests nukes. “ In the 1990s, widespread famine devastated North Korea, killing over 2.5 million, and perhaps upwards of 3.7 million”

  17. I think North Korea is brainwashed and they all think they live in the best country when they are really controlled by Kim Jung Un who is making all his citizens live in poverty. Also they have no privacy and they are always watching. Overall, I think North Korea is a awful place to live and is so brainwashed.

  18. I think North Korea is a strict and paranoid country because the leader Kim Jung gives the citizens no contact with the outside world and keeps them trapped. Instead of making North Korea a better country for citizens, they work on making nuclear weapons to protect their country.

  20. My thoughts about North Korea is that they are very violent and fake. You can tell that they are fake because in one of the videos we watched, they were just showing the Americans all of the good things about North Korea, even though they are actually very violent. One of the Americans even said that he felt like he was in the Truman show. He felt this way because when we think of North Korea we think of violence. I agree with this because in all of the documentaries we saw, it was very obvious that all of the North Korean citizens are very scared of Kim Jong Un, they hate Americans, they have no privacy, and they brainwash their citizens to think North Korea is something it’s really not. I think that this is very wrong and North Korea shouldn’t be acting this way.

  22. I think North Korea and Kim Jong Un are horrible because of what they are doing to the citizens. The article we read talks about how North Korea is a country ruled by a dictatorship. In it, the leader spot has been passed down through the Kim family and the current dictator is Kim Jong Un. Citizens have no freedom and are forced to love their leader and obey him. They also have no outside connection and their internet, cell phones, and radios are controlled by the government. This makes me feel sorry for the people in North Korea that don’t know of the outside world and are forced to live in starvation, poverty, and are constantly being brainwashed. Another thing that makes me believe NK is a cruel nation because in a documentary we watched, it said how they send people to camps for crimes someone in their family committed, even if it wasn't them.

  23. I believe North Korea is a horrible and corrupt nation to their people because of the video we watched it showed all the struggles people had to go through just to survive. In the TED Talk we watched the man was an orphan and his day consisted of rummaging through trash just so he could find a loaf of bread. Kim Jong Un also adds fuel to the fire considering he does all these things to his own people. He just shoves so much propaganda down people's’ throats they have absolutely no freedom, limited internet access,no tv,no radio, nothing! These poor people are brainwashed to hate every country that isn’t their own. My heart goes out to all these people and hope they soon gain a real Democratic Republic.

  25. I think north korea is bad place. There is no privacy or freedom, you are always on camera and people are always watching you. Also there is no technology. Phones and computers are not allowed. They use propaganda to make it seem like their country is a great place. For example, when Mr Carpenter came in and talked about his trip to South Korea, he said at the DMZ you can be pulled into North Korea so people can say things like you tried to get into North Korea because its a great place. North Korea is a terrible country.

  26. Overall, North Korea can be very brutal and controlling. It can also be artificial. North Korea is brutal, because of its strict policies, and overbearing rules. In North Korea, people can be sentenced to a life of prison, despite how small their felony was. Punishment can be so severe in North Korea, that it can even be passed down through generations. If someone from North Korea is punishment, the punishment can also extend all the way to their grand-children. North Korea is also willing to punish all other people connected to the perpetrator, despite their level of involvement in the person's life. These people include aunts, uncles, cousins, siblings, parents, and even friends. North Korea also has labor camps, whose inmates survive with barely enough to live on. These camps serve as a constant reminder of North Korea's brutality, along with its many other harsh policies. Next, North Korea is very controlling. In North Korea, every aspect of life is closely monitored. This includes internet, social media, radio, newspaper, and even citizens actions are watched, and checked to make sure it does not contain the slightest hint of rebellion toward the government. North Korea also uses its media as a way to send out propaganda to brainwash its citizens. All of this shows how North Korea has complete control on the citizens that live there. Finally, North Korea is artificial. Despite its isolation from the entire world, North Korea always tries to show its best face. Even so, the image North Korea has constructed is far from what it is really like there. North Korea tries to create an artificial image of itself being a rich, free, and kind country. These fake ideals are strongly supported by the citizens, but to the rest of the world, they seem unrealistic, compared to what North Korea’s actual government stands for. North Korea has constructed a false image of itself, and this forced ideal has effected how it is thought of by other countries. In conclusion, I feel terrible that the citizens of North Korea have to live in fear of their government’s brutality everyday. They are brainwashed by their government’s fake ideals and propaganda.

  27. The North Korean Government is very powerful over it's citizens, and very controlling. North Korea has many policies in which it's citizens must follow, otherwise there will be consequences to not only the citizen, but their family too. Lots of fear is involved in North Korea, if the citizens do something wrong, there will be cnosequences.
