Democratic Republic of the Congo

The Country I chose was the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The Democratic Republic of the Congo is in the middle of Africa and is surrounded by land except for a tiny bit of land that borders the Atlantic Ocean.
What I learned about the DRC (Democratic Republic of the Congo) Is that Education is an important part, most parents encourage their kids to go to college! I also learned that the DRC's government type is Republic and the President is Joseph Kabila. One of the most interesting facts was in the health/sickness category, the first known case of Ebola was in the DRC and Ebola was actually named after the Ebola River. One last thing I learned about the Democratic Republic of the Congo is that Copper is their main export. I think that the Democratic Republic of the Congo is a cool place and was very interesting to study!

  1. This country will be very interesting for you to study. It is wartorn and struggling as a result of the issues going on in the country. I would like for you to really look into the background of this country and present the interesting information to the class, as it is a very complex nation!

  2. Great job! Unlike the DRC, the Philippines is a democratic republic. Also, the Philippines gets a lot of its money from outsourcing businesses, instead of minerals. In both countries, rice is a popular food. Great presentation, I enjoyed learning about the DRC!

  3. Great job on your presentation I learned so much. DRC and Madagascar are similar because they both have a prime minister and president. They are different because the economy in DRC is based off of copper and cobalt and Madagascar's economy is based off of agriculture. Overall awesome job on your pinterest.

  6. Jamaica and the DRC have nothing in common. First of all, Jamaica doesn't have a president, instead they have a prime minister who has most power. Also, a big export in Jamaica is aluminum oxide, but in the DRC, it is copper. Nice job on your presentation overall.

  10. Great job! The type of government in the District of Columbia is different from the type of government in China. Rice is also very popular in China. There are very poor areas in China. Our countries have some similarities. Good job!
