My country is Kenya. Kenya is only the east coast of Africa and its capital is Nairobi. I learned a lot about Kenya. In my blog you will about the government, daily life, arts and language of Kenya. The leader of Kenya is, Uhuru Kenyatta and they have a Republic Government. The two houses of the legislative branch are the Senate and the National Assembly. Food is a huge part of every country’s daily life! In Kenya they have some very cool foods that you might not know about! Some foods are ugali, uji, mazadi, githeri, chapati, and sukuma wiki. One famous band in Kenya is Kamatana. Music is a big part of Kenya and kids start to learn music when they are very young. I can’t imagine going to music school or learning music as soon as I could walk! Fashion is also a huge part of Kenya. A khanga, kitenge, gorfa, and a shuka. The two official languages in Kenya are Swahili and English. Africans call Swahili, Kiswahili and it is spoken all over the world. I loved learning about Kenya and I hope to learn much more! You will also see more information on my Pinterest, so go on to find out more about Kenya!
Lucy, I'm really glad you picked Kenya. When we dive into our Africa unit, Kenya will come up a lot, especially when we get to Sudan. They saved a lot of refugees who were fleeing Sudan and your background knowledge will really help you with the unit. I love the interesting cultures you found and can't wait to see you present them to the class!
ReplyDeleteNice job presenting! Kenya and Jordan have very little in common but I liked learning about the music in Kenya and about the Swahili language.
ReplyDeleteGreat job! Kenya and the Philippines both are Democratic Republics, but they have different parties. Kenya gets a lot of its money from agriculture, but the Philippines gets a lot of money from outsourcing businesses. Something that they both have in common is that English is used in government, education, and business in both countries.
ReplyDeleteAMAZING job! There is very little in common between Turkey and Kenya, but music is a very big part of their cultures. Another thing in common is that English is a business language. I could really tell you knew a lot about Kenya and really enjoyed your presentation keep it up!

ReplyDeleteGreat job presenting! You did really good and I could tell you knew what you were talking about. Also our countries are very similar!
ReplyDeleteGreat job! I learned a lot about Kenya. Kenya and Ireland are very alike. They have similar foods, government's, arts, and even sports. Both Ireland and Kenya have a Republic Government. Beef and chicken are also part of Ireland's culture. Soccer and music are both very important in Ireland's culture as well. I enjoyed learning about the amazing food, music, government, and more!
ReplyDeleteGreat job Luc! You were amazing! Kenya and Jamaica are very different. For example the foods in Kenya seem really cool and interesting, but in Jamaica they are much more simple, fish. Also, the music in Kenya was very cool. I thought it was interesting that they learn at such a young age, they don't do that in Jamaica. Their governments are very different too. The Jamaican government is a parliamentary democracy, but the madagascan government is a republic. Kenya was such an interesting country to learn about!
