Superb Switzerland

Superb Switzerland

My country is Switzerland. Switzerland is a country located in Europe and is surrounded by Austria, France, Germany, and Italy. It’s a small country that is very diverse! It was in wars against France, Austria, and themselves. Switzerland has always been a strong army force. They fought many wars over and a few over power. In 1315 went to war with Austria, Austria was ten times their size! The Swiss still beat them! Then after a great loss against France Switzerland lost all of their ideas to "expand". So, Switzerland declared its neutrality. In Switzerland Yodeling is a classic form of music. It was always a part of their culture. There is a dance called color guard where they wave and throw flags, sabers, and fake wooden rifles. In Switzerland schools start at the age of 6 and is free until age 15. The school levels are Primary (elementary), Secondary (middle), and Gymnasium (high school). Gymnasium is the prep to University (College). One of Switzerland's leaders is President Simonetta Sommaruga. She is the third female president in their history. That is super awesome! Switzerland is a cool country because they have had three female presidents, were a great army force but still became neutral, they yodel as a music, and dance while throwing things in the air. This is a few of the many reasons Switzerland is an awesome country.
This is the country Switzerland. It is located in Europe around Austria, France, Germany, and Italy.: WARS.jpg

  1. Excellent job! Loved how you compared the governments and educational systems to the US. I also think it's important to hear about the similarities between "Obama Care" and the Swiss system. Well done.

  2. I really liked your presentation! School is also free for a period of time at China too! In China there is no such thing as a social democrat. I think yodeling is interesting, and they don't have that in China either. You had some very interesting information in your presentation!

  3. Great job! Kenya isn't in a war at the moment, but they have many difficulties with other countries such as the Mau Mau Rebellion, which was when they were fighting for independence from Britain. They don't yodel, but music is a huge part of Kenya's culture;they start to learn music when they are very young!

  4. I really like your presentation! In Morocco there is no president, there is a king and a prime minister. Morocco hasn't been in any wars lately. They did have to fight against France for their independence though. There are many different types of music but yodelling isn't one of them.

  6. I really liked your presentation! I learned so many things about Switzerland that I never knew before. Madagascar and Switzerland are kind of alike because they were both underdogs in wars, but they both won! They are kind of different because they have different kinds of government. Overall great job on your pinterest!!

  7. I thought you did a great job! I thought it was really cool that the president of Switzerland is the 3rd female one! Just like Switzerland schooling is free in France too. France is in Europe too. Also your country had to fight against mine, which I think is pretty cool. I learned a lot about Switzerland!

  8. Great job! Both the Philippines and Switzerland have had female presidents. It must be good that there is free education for a while in Switzerland, in the Philippines, there are some free schools, but those schools aren't normally as good and are for people who don't have much money. Nice job!

  9. I really like that you put in lots of pictures. In Brazil, we also have a president as our leader, but we are not in a war with another country. I thought that it was cool that Switzerland has had three female presidents so far!! In my country, the current president is the first female president in Brazil.

  10. Good job on your presentation! Music is also a very important part of Turkey except they do something completely different. Turkey also has a lot of history on wars such as the Ottoman Empire. Overall you had a really nice presentation and I enjoyed it a lot!

  11. I thought you had a great presentation! I think it is very cool how Switzerland became a neutral country. Also, in Switzerland, yodeling is popular, but not in Jamaica. Instead, a popular form of dance in Jamaica is Kumina. Just like in Switzerland, kids in Jamaica go to primary school at the age of six, and then secondary school. It was really fun learning about Switzerland.

  13. Great job! switzerland and Italy are very different. Even though Italy surrounds Switzerland they don't have many things in common. The government and laws are also not very alike. It was very fun learning about switzerland and it was cool to learn about the schools and what they are called.

  14. Great job! We both had our share of wars but we never became neutral even if we lost. Just now we are starting to become neutral though but not because of wars but because of president saddam hussein who murdered people and now that we have seen that they won't do it again.
