I did Turkey. Turkey is located in parts of Asia and Europe. I loved learning about Turkey they have such an interesting culture! I loved seeing all the historical buildings they have such as the Blue Mosque which has been open for 399 years. I also loved learning about the Whirling Dervishes I still don't know how they spin so fast. I also think they have such a rich history The Ottoman Empire was my favorite because it's such a long period of History of invasions and wars. One fact that really shocked me was when I learned that one Turkish Lira is worth only 0.34 USD. If you happen to ever visit Turkey some nice attractions are The Blue Mosque,Underground Cistern, and The Grand Bazaar. I really enjoyed learning about Turkey and I am happy to share everything I have learned with the class.https://www.pinterest.com/jgoldperiod2/rayan-falouji-period-1-turkey/
Wow! Excellent information! Loved how you tied in the different forms of Islam, the dances, the culture and the way of life in Turkey. It is so vastly different from the way of life in the US-but some similarities. I like that you discussed the importance of religion and the rich history. Well done.

ReplyDeleteGood presentation! Dance is also a big part of China, but the types of dance look very different from each other. There aren't mosques in China, and the Turkish language goes back pretty far. You had a lot of information!
ReplyDeleteNice Job!! Dance is also very important to Colombia. It is so interesting to see the differences between Colombia and Turkey
ReplyDeleteTurkey is part in the same contadent as Switzerland! They have pretty much nothing in common but that. Turkey is a cool country too!
ReplyDeleteGreat presentation! Turkey and the Philippines have many differences. For example, instead of the majority of the population being muslim, in the Philippines the majority of the population is Roman Catholic. Only 5% of Filipinos are muslim. However, both countries have interesting dances. Turkey has the Whirling Dervishes and the Philippines has the Tinikling dance.

ReplyDeleteI don't know how those dancers spin so fast it's insane! Great Job by the way! Israel also has a strong art of dancing but I don't think they have so many mosques! After your presentation I kind of want to go there some time!
ReplyDeleteGreat presentation! Ireland and Turkey are very different, but they are still similar in some ways. For example, both Ireland and Turkey have similar food. They also have similar economies. Nonetheless, Turkey and Ireland have very different governments and religion. I also enjoyed learning about how important dancing is important both, religiously and culturally, to Turkey, and I had fun watching the video. Overall you did a great job!
ReplyDeleteThat was a very cool presentation, it seems that you were prepared. In Turkey there is a prime minister while in the UK, there is a queen. In Turkey, most people are Muslim while in the UK, most are Christian. Most people in Turkey speak Turkish while most people in the UK speak English. I thought it was very cool learning about turkey and I hope I can go there someday.
ReplyDeleteWoah! Turkey is so cool! I really like the whirling dervishes dance. I also think it's interesting that there are over 80,000 mosques, that's a lot of praying! Overall i really like your blog and your presentation.
ReplyDeleteNice Job Rayan!!!!! Your presentation was so good and that dance you showed us was crazy, how don't they get dizzy! Great Job explaining everything and knowing how to pronounce all the names. Great Job!!!!!
ReplyDeleteNice presentation! Ireland and Turkey are very different. In Ireland Roman Catholic is the largest religion, but in Turkey, Islamic is the biggest religion. Also, dance does not play as large of a role in Ireland's culture as it does turkeys. Even though there are many differences between the two countries, they are still similar in some ways. For example, both Ireland and Turkey have a president. In the end, I learned a lot about Turkey.
ReplyDeleteGood job. Are counties are practically similar. We both speak arabic. we both have presidents. We both are in asia. We also have mosques in our country.
