Marvelous Madagascar
By: Nicole Schindler
My country is Madagascar. This is off the east coast of Africa. I have learned many things about this amazing country and its cultures. I about the fashion in Madagascar. One famous garment is the Lamba. It is full of bright cultures and cool patterns. If you saw someone in America wearing a Lamba i'm sure you would be very confused.I also learned that for recreation people in Madagascar love to play soccer. In America we don’t only play soccer, but many other sports. Madagascar’s economy is based off of agriculture, but their main crop is rice. In fact in Madagascar a meal without rice in considered incomplete. The government is also very different from Americas because it is a republic and our government is a democracy. Although the way people are elected is very similar. Also, America's government is currently doing a lot better than Madagascar's because of the 2009 coup. The Music in Madagascar is very different from America. They use different instruments and play different styles like S
ega and Kilacky. Madagascar is an amazing country that is full of culture and history. I hope to learn more about it in the future. https://www.pinterest.com/jgoldperiod4/nicole-schindler-period-1-madagascar/

Love the blog! Your pics are gorgeous and your information is tied to the US which really helps you and the other students relate. I think you did a great job on not an easy country and for that I'm really impressed! Can't wait to see the pinterest board in class-these pics are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteGreat job! The president of Madagascar has a 5 year term while the president of the Philippines has a 6 year term. Also, the economy of Madagascar is based on agriculture, while the economy of the Philippines is highly reliant on outsourcing businesses. However, both countries have rice in almost every meal. A fun fact is that, cassava which you said grows a lot in Madagascar, is used in a famous dessert in the Philippines called Cassava Cake!
ReplyDeleteI thought you did a great job on your presentation. Unlike the UK is a constitutional monarchy while madagascar is a republic government. Madagascar's economy is based off of agriculture while the UK's economy is based off cars and petroleum. I learned a lot about Madagascar and I hope I can go there someday.
ReplyDeleteGreat job Nicole!!!! You were amazing! Fish in Jamaica is like the rice in Madagascar. They eat it almost every day! Although the music in Madagascar is really cool, it is not like reggae in Jamaica. Reggae is more pop. Also, the government in Madagascar is really interesting, especially the Cous. But unlike Madagascar, Jamaica has a parliamentary democracy. EXCELLENT presentation!
ReplyDeleteGreat job! Our countries are so similar and interesting. They are so close and do many of the same things and were once ruled by europe
ReplyDeleteIn your country you wear a lamba, In mine we wear an abaya. They both look like towels but abaya are black.
